Hi! Hello! 👋
I’m Anya [pronounced “on-ya”] and I am an associate marriage and family therapist in the Los Angeles area. My path to this field has been… a winding one. I chose this work after many years of not choosing my own way and realizing that, completely disconnected from myself, I needed to make some changes. I wanted to live a life that meant something to me and would also allow me to use my strongest skills - building connections with others, articulating perspectives, identifying patterns, and looking at language. Those are pretty helpful qualities for a therapist, so (fast-forward several years) hey! Here I am.
In my previous lives, I worked as an English teacher and, more recently, on the people side of tech at several startups. I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles and, after spending the majority of my 20s living in different countries, I am happy to be home and of service to my community.
I identify as biracial (I am Mexican and Ashkenazi Jewish). I am familiar with the complexities, joys, and challenges of multicultural and multifaith connections, whether in the form of intimate relationships or families. I also have experience with immigration journeys and feel passionate about supporting people through that often lifelong transition.
In my free time, I love learning languages, reading, baking (and eating) bread, and trying new crafts.
